GOOD MORNING

Mommy is so excited and proud of me!  After holding it in for almost 24 hours, I finally pooped outside this morning.  She says she now has a sample to take to the vet and then we can start puppy junior kindergarten tomorrow night.  She is happier because she is learning my signs and I haven't had an accident inside since yesterday morning.

Our morning started early... 4am. Got up before Dad's alarm because I was fidgety. Outside we went, which is when all the excitement happened.

Mom and I went back to bed at 5:30 when Daddy left for work.  She has superpowers or something because she was sound asleep and I started dry heaving in the bed.  In a blink, I was on the floor.

She gave me 1/2 a chew stick so she could get stuff done but it was gone before she could even start.

So starts our day

Night of day 1 (or who is more stubborn) and day 2

Hi again everyone!

So, last night the people put me in a cage for bed time.  I definitely had other ideas!!  I set up a huge racket for about 3 minutes but no one came to release me.  So, I gave up and accepted my fate.  I slept for about an hour and then Dad got up to go to the bathroom.  Here is my chance!!  I howled and barked and whined and growled for about 15 minutes but they ignored me.  FINE! I went back to sleep.  Dad got up AGAIN an hour later and I started all over again and this time, I WON!!  Dad told Mom to bring me to bed!!!  YES!

Mom took me out at 4am and I pee'd and we went back to bed.  Then, before breakfast I pee'd and pooped in the living room.  I don't think I like going outside to go the bathroom, I refused to poop the rest of the day.  Mom tried, I was outside with her almost all day but I showed her!  I haven't pooped since before breakfast and it is now past dinner.  I also walked into my cage, pee'd on the bedding and walked back out.  Oh, yeah and pee'd in my new bed!  Who needs grass to pee on with all these nice soft areas?!

Today I met lots of people big and little!  Mom says I met almost everyone in the neighborhood but I really like my neighbors a lot.  I even won Grace over, she let me kiss her.  I saw Thunder again out front and that freaked me out a little.  He is HUGE!!  Just seeing him made me yelp a lot.  He doesn't seem very fun, he pretty much ignored me.

Dad walked me for a bit.  There was a very interesting patch of dirt that I had to roll in over and over again.  There was some discussion about a bath after that but so far, so good.

We went to see Dad's parents today too.  I got really brave and stood on the top step of the built in pool. Mom brought me in the pool but held me above the water so I didn't get wet.  I really trust her so that was OK.  They have a small dog named Toby.  I think we will definitely be good buddies.  We had a lot of fun wrestling and chasing each other but he got pissed.  The people separated us and then we left.

We went to PetSmart, which is a lot of fun!!!!  All the smells and other dogs were wonderful.  Lots of people made a big deal over me and someone even gave me a treat!  Mom and Dad bought me a new water bowl since I sat in the old one and spilled water all over the kitchen.  I got more toys and lots more treats.  Dad ended up carrying me at the end because I didn't want to walk anymore.  I curled up with my head on his shoulder.  I jumped on Mom's lap and did the same thing earlier.  I'm working it!

Last stop was my new Vet.  She says I am not constipated (I knew that, I am stubborn) and totally healthy.  I like her, she has great treats and she is very gentle.  She got down on my level and cuddled me.  She also says I need to wear the cone for 2 whole weeks.  Mom went to the dollar store and got me a cat collar so we can get rid of the gauze that they tied the cone on with.  I won't be able to chew the gauze anymore.

I think I am sleeping with Mom and Dad tonight but I am so tired from all the new experiences and people today.  Time for a nap!!

Love,

Lola *lick*

Update.  I got a quick nap in and then Gabbi and Les from next door came over to play with me in the backyard.  Boy, was it fun chasing them around the yard with my fox!!!  I even spilled my water, which splashed all over me.  Mom cut it short because my tummy was looking a little red.  NOW I can have a proper nap even though the stupid cone is fixed and the mean humans are making me wear it.

This home thing

Hi everyone!

My name is Lola. Mom says I'm a show-dog and keeps singing to me.  I think if she puts yellow feathers in my fur, we are going to have a problem.

I am 12 weeks old and was adopted today from the Oakville/Milton Humane Society in Ontario, Canada.

My story is that my Mom was rescued with a bunch of other dogs from an animal hoarder.  Mom had us pups on February 22nd.  She was one of three pregnant Beagles when they were rescued.  There were 30 puppies born in the 3 litters.  Me and my brother Kale were the last two adopted because of some legal issues.  Mom and Dad said they were very lucky to get me.

Mom and Dad picked me up today.  It's been quite an adventurous day!!

I had a lot of firsts today.  I ate carrots for the first time!!  Now, everyone knows that you can't eat a carrot without pouncing on it, rolling on it, throwing it in the air and beating it up first!  The humans were laughing at me.  Mom also stuck a bunch of treats in a toy, which was frustrating.  I did get some of them out, though.  I ate a chew stick on the ride home.  That was GREAT but difficult since I couldn't use my paws to hold it still.  That horrible cone got in the way.  I met quite a few humans besides my parents.  Two neighbors, three small humans of various sizes and the big Husky dog next door.  OK, the dog intimidated me a bit but Mom and Dad encouraged me to investigate and he's not so scary after all.

I went for a walk.  I love sniffing everything and holding my leash in my mouth.  Not sure Mom was happy with the leash bit, she says that I needed *training* but not sure what that is.

I spent a lot of time outside with my people.  I found the only place in the fence that doesn't reach the ground!!  What fun but no one else seemed impressed.  Now there is a rock there, boooo!  Mom took me out many times.  I did pee outside twice and she made a big deal out of that!!  I kind of like the kitchen rug, though.  Mom put some stinky stuff on it, (vinegar)so it doesn't smell very good and made me sneeze.

I love exploring.  Mom and Dad laughed at me because I was jumping at the trees to grab the leaves.  I also made a bed out of the plants in the flower garden.  Dandelions taste good, as does grass.  My people watched me closely and took things out of my mouth a few times.  But it was fun.

I like something called wires.  The humans freaked out every time I got one in my mouth and now they are all out of reach.  They took them away and stuck a toy in my mouth each time.  I forgot about the wires for awhile.

I love to run at full speed and jump on people when they are sitting on the ground at my level.  They say I am a lover, as I give lots of kisses.  I am really comfortable sitting next to them but did get some courage and investigate a bit.  I went up the stairs by myself and Dad blocked the stairs off.  He's a spoil sport!

I hear there is something called a cat in the house somewhere and I can smell it but haven't seen it yet.  I bet I could play with it but no one else thinks that would be a good idea.

Well, I am really worn out from my busy and fun day.  Will write more tomorrow!
